Playground Action!

This week in writing we learned to use verbs (action words). After playing on the playground we talked about what we had been doing.  We made our writing more interesting by using these words instead of 'went'.

I crawled in the orange tunnel. I zoomed down the slide. I spun on the pole. I zoomed fast on the flying fox.
        Fern

We walked to the playground. I wanted to go on the monkey bars. I swung to get to the other side. Then I slid down the slide. I did it again. I got off then hung upside down. My head started to hurt so I got off. I walked along the wooden bridge. I slid down the green slide. It was super fast but fun.
        Tea

I climbed up the pole then I reached to the top. I got onto the slide.  I got on the flying fox. I flew to the other side. I jumped on the bridge.
      Aaron

I swung on the monkey bars then I got on the pole and I spun around. I ran on the bridge then I climbed on the monkey bars.
     Ryan

Yesterday we walked to the playground. I climbed on the jungle gym then I walked on the bridge. I slid down the green slide. I zoomed on the flying fox then we all walked back to the classroom.
       Amelia

I jumped on the bridge and moved to the slide. Then I moved again to the grey monkey bars. I spun around.
                    Zayed

I slid down the slide. People were waiting for a turn so I slid down fast. I zoomed on the flying fox.
            Ebony

I zoomed down the slide. I crawled through the orange tunnel. I walked on the wobbly bridge. I climbed on the monkey bars to the top. I zoomed on the flying fox. I liked it.
                     Tane

I slid on the slide. I turned around on the monkey bars.
       Ondreous

I was hanging on the monkey bars. I hoped I wouldn’t fall but I didn’t. After that I swung on the monkey bars. I zoomed on the flying fox. I slid down the slide.
          Brisa

We all walked to the playground. I slid down the slide. It was fun. After that I walked to the monkey bars. I swung upside down. I waited for my turn. After I walked to the climbing frame. I climbed on it. Then we all walked back to the classroom.
       Thea

I hung upside down on the monkey bars.
    Bailey

I swung on the monkey bars. I waited on the ladder for a turn on the slide.
       Julius

I swung on the monkey bars. I spun on the pole.
          Pharell

We walked to the playground to play. We shared the flying fox with our friends. I zoomed down the green slide.

      Tiana

I jumped on the bouncy bridge. It was wiggling and jiggling. Then I walked to the climbing frame. I hung down on the climbing frame. It was fun. I did a flip then I walked to the monkey bars. I swung all the way over the monkey bars.

  1. Kia ora room 2. I am impressed with your writing. I don't even have to watch the slide show to see what you were doing, the verbs you have used have painted a very clear picture in my mind.

  5. Kia ora Room 2 authors. I really enjoyed reading your writing. I liked the verbs such as zoomed, wiggling and jiggling, crawled and spun. These made your writing more interesting to read. What are some other words that you could use instead of walk?

  7. Hi Room 2 it’s Ezra from Room 7. I absolutely love your videos of your time on the playground and also your water safety video. It’s important to learn about safety in the water so that you don’t do anything wrong.
