Action World

On Wednesday we walked to Action World. First we had a snack. Then I went to play on the cars. Next I went to the seesaws. It was fun at Action World. Last we went on the water slide. I was scared when I saw the water slide. When it was my turn I took a breath in then I took my hands off the sides. I slid down. I was so proud of myself.
                  Brisa

On Wednesday the school went on a trip to Action World. My favourite thing was the trapeze. I swung from one to another to another. I made it over the mark. I was so happy. Then came the tight rope. I couldn't do it. I was having a great time. I kept lining up for the trapeze. I thought I was very good at it. Next I went on the climbing wall. I made it part of the way. After that I went to the water slide. I was very scared and excited at the same time. I waited for my turn. I waited for the person before me to get out. Finally it was my turn. I let go. I thought it was going to be fast and it was. I loved it. It was the boys turn so I went to get changed. I went back to the trapeze and the cars and then it was time to go back to school. I was exhausted.

GOLF SKILLS

We have been very lucky over the last four weeks to take part in the SNAG "Starting New At Golf" programme learning golf skills with Paul. We have learned many new skills. You may hear us calling out SNAG in the video. We had to say SNAG whenever we hit the target. Maybe we could practise these skills in a game of mini golf in the school holidays.

We had to find an image of an action, screenshot it and put it onto an Explain Everything slide then write the question and answer.

Firewise

This week we had a visit from a fireman. He taught us about fire safety. We pretended there was a fire and we had to get down, stay low and get out, FAST. He also showed us the gear that he has to wear when he goes into a fire. He inspired us to write about it.

I saw Jeremy. He was a fire fighter. I learned about matches. He told us do not play with matches and candles and lighters it's dangerous.
        Ayanda

He showed us the smoke alarm.
         Kamo

The candle burnt the curtain. It burnt fast and it burnt the house.
         Pharell

I think the candle should not be close to the curtain because it might light a fire. And the smoke alarm might go on.
        Brisa

Jeremy the fire fighter came to see Room 2 and Room 0 and Room 1.
       Tane

       Thea

I think Jeremy is cool at talking. We like Jeremy. Jeremy said fire is real, he said fire is hot.
       Ondreous

Jeremy is a fire fighter. He needs a gas tank. When there is a fire you shout "fire, fire!" He got all his clothing and he put it all on. He got hot, very, very hot. He got a black sheet that looked like smoke and then he turned a smoke alarm on and we crawled under the sheet. It was so cool. But I hope the whole school didn't hear it. But we did. I felt scared when he did it.

WATER SPORTS AFTERNOON

We are learning to do recount writing. We need to have an opening to introduce who (the participants), what (the event) and when (when it took it place). We then write about the sequence of events and add personal comments.

Yesterday when the water day happened we played in the water sprinkler. That was exciting. It felt like rain. We went on the water slide. We slid on our tummies. We ran then jumped on the mat. It was slippery.
              Aaron

Yesterday afternoon we had a water day. We got the water slide out. We had to run very fast otherwise we wouldn’t go very far. We played dry, dry, wet. I tipped the water on Ayanda. She tipped it on Fern. I liked that game but we only did it three times.
The sprinkler was fun. It had a hole in it.
We showed the parents our swimming.
