Stream Investigation

On Friday we joined Room 3 to walk up the School Road bush track to look at the stream. We looked carefully to see what creatures were living in the stream. We measured the temperature of the water and it was 16 degrees. We didn't see any rubbish in the stream which was good because when we looked at the stream by school there was a lot of rubbish in it.
After we had looked at the stream Gareth showed us rat, possum and stoat traps.

  2. Hi Room 2, this looks like an excellent adventure along the bush track. Its good that you are considering the temperature/health of the water. I also hope those traps are doing their job?

  3. Well done room 2. You have made a difference to our stream and to our awareness. We must look after our waterways and you are all helping and adding technology to your learning. Ka mau te wehi!

  4. Kia ora room 2. It looks like you had a very interesting walk. I like the way you have taken photos to show what you experienced. What types of creatures did you find in the stream in the bush?
