Matariki


Last week we celebrated Matariki.

 After walking to the beach just after 6am it was back to school for breakfast. Unfortunately there was too much cloud for us to see Matariki this year.
We enjoyed making stars and kites.

For our shared lunch we made a delicious healthy quiche.

Everyone brought along other yummy food to share too.

 

After lunch we had great fun flying the kites that we had made.
 

Our Matariki day finished with a great show. You can see by our faces that we loved it!

    Kia ora Room 2. I loved reading about your Matariki celebration and seeing the pictures. It was such a fun day. I hope you all have a good year ahead. Ka pai ou koutou wa o Matariki.

    It was definitely an early start in our house that morning - what a shame you didn't get to see the Matariki stars, however you will get to try again next year. Looks like you all had a fun day.
